Training with Coach Angel was both demanding and rewarding, preparing me for my first season of Division I college soccer. The environment pushed me to work hard, stay disciplined, and remain dedicated to my goals.

Training with Coach Angel changed me in many ways that I didn’t know. It made me understand what real work looks like and how to do it. His training makes you understand how to be a dog, not just say it.

Co-Founder & Head Coach

“Whether you’re an athlete chasing your next level or someone just trying to feel like yourself again, I know what it’s like to want more for yourself. I lost over 100 pounds, and that journey taught me that every goal, from a new PR to the first run of a HYROX, comes down to the same things: showing up, trusting the process, and having someone in your corner.

I’m here to be that person for you. No matter where you’re starting, your best is still ahead of you.”

Michael Zuniga

Co-Founder & Head Coach

“There’s no substitute for hard work.” Through years of training, coaching, and competing in everything from powerlifting to marathons, one thing has stayed constant: hard work. Whether you’re training to score the game-winning touchdown or simply to keep up with your kids, every goal requires commitment and consistency.

As a coach, my goal is to meet you where you are, guide you through the process, and help you realize what you’re truly capable of. Everyone’s journey may look different, but one thing remains the same: the work never lies.”

“We don’t believe in cookie-cutter programs, because there’s no such thing as a cookie-cutter person. We take the time to learn you: how your body responds, what your life looks like outside the gym, and what’s really holding you back. Then we build a plan that fits you, and we adjust it as you grow.”

“We’ve been on both sides of this. We know what it’s like to doubt yourself, to start over, and to finally break through. That’s why we coach with patience, honesty, and belief in you, even before you believe in yourself.”

Frequently asked questions

What does coaching cost?

Training more often earns a lower per-session rate. Here’s where plans start:

1:1 TrainingIn-home, apartment gym, or studio From $120/session
Partner Training2–3 people, per person From $78/person
Small Group Training4–6 people, per person From $70/person
Online CoachingProgram tier, monthly From $149/month

Sessions 30+ minutes from Gaithersburg may include a small travel fee, waived for groups of 4 or more. Exact plans, payment, and billing are handled securely through our ForActive client account once we’ve matched you to a program.

How does scheduling and billing work?

Monthly plans bill in advance on the 1st, on autopay through ForActive. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice count as used. If our pricing changes, current clients keep their existing rate.

What age groups do you train?

We coach middle schoolers through adults. Youth and teen athletes train at the same small-group rate as our older athletes, with programming built around growth, technique, and long-term development — not just chasing numbers.

Where are you located?

We’re based in Gaithersburg, MD and regularly train clients across Potomac, Olney, Rockville, and Germantown. Most 1:1 and partner sessions happen in-home or in your apartment gym.

We also have a private training studio. Once we’ve connected and you’re ready to commit to in-person studio sessions, we’ll share that location directly. Speed, agility, and field-based sessions are typically hosted at Good Counsel High School.

How does online coaching work?

Online coaching works from anywhere. Choose Program (a custom plan in an app, updated monthly), Coaching (plus weekly check-ins, form video reviews, and messaging), Premium (plus a 30-minute video call every two weeks), or Hybrid (online coaching plus two in-person sessions a month).
